1st EB in Youth for Science Quiz

Billal Hossain, a student of Islamic University (EB) won first place in the quiz of the ‘Youth for Science’ competition organized by the scientific magazine ‘Vijyan Chinta’ and Future Farming Bangladesh. Billal is a 2015-16 academic year student of EB’s Department of Applied Nutrition and Food Technology.
The final stage of the competition was held on Saturday (October 15) in the conference room of the Bahauddin Nasim Administrative Building of the Shere-Bangla Agricultural University. By participating in the final round, Billal won first place. At the end of the final stage, the invitees presented the prizes to Billal and other winners.

Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan.T he special guests were the novelist, cartoonist and editor of the monthly magazine Umad Ahsan Habib, the editor of Kishore Alor, the writer Anisul Haque, the professor of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Department of Dhaka University (DU) Mushtaq Ibn Ayub, the CEO and executive Director of Farming Future Bangladesh (FFB) Mohammad Arif Hossain, Associate Director Anwar Farooq, Science Thought Editor Abdul Qayyum and many others.

Previously, Future Farming Bangladesh and Vigyanchinta jointly organized ‘Youth for Science 2022’ last September. University students from all over the country entered the competition in three categories (Essay, Photography and Quiz). The preliminary results of the event were announced on October 11.

Expressing his feelings, Billal Hossain said: “I am very happy and excited to see my name as the winner of the quiz competition. My parents were very happy with this news of my success. I am most happy about that. I am really proud to represent EB on such a big stage.

The names of the top 10 participants in the essay competition, the top 10 participants in the photo competition and the top 74 participants in the quiz were announced.

It should be noted that Farming Future Bangladesh is working to raise awareness of modern agricultural technology and science including genetic engineering in food grain production.
Vigyanchinta is the most popular scientific monthly magazine in Bangladesh. The magazine works to spread science at all levels across the country and make the youth scientific.
