Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology has become fertile in education and research with students from all over the country.
Haji Mohammed Danesh University of Science and Technology, the top university in North Bengal, entered its 24th year on September 11. Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology is located at Bansherhat in Dinajpur district. 2nd science and technology university in Bangladesh and best university in North Bengal. The largest number of foreign students study at this university.
It is named after Haji Mohammad Danesh, son of Dinajpur, the leader of the Tevaga movement. Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology started in 1976 as an Agricultural Extension Training Institute (AUT) offering a degree in Agriculture.

On November 11, 1988, it was transformed into a graduate agricultural college. It was then an affiliated college of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. On September 11, 1999, this college was declared a university. In 2000, the “Science and Technology University Establishment Scheme” was launched to transform the college into a university.

On July 8, 2001, the Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology Act was passed. The University was established on April 8, 2002 by the issuance of a proclamation by His Excellency the President. The formal education program started on April 16. The eminent soil scientist Professor Dr. Md. Musharraf Hossain Miya is the first Vice-Chancellor of the University. The language of instruction at the university is English. Conducted on the course-credit-semester system.

Currently, certificates are awarded in 23 subjects in 9 faculties. There are 22 subjects in 8 faculties at the undergraduate level and 28 subjects in one faculty at the postgraduate level. Currently, the campus area is 135 acres. The Dhaka-Dinajpur highway passes through the campus. The distance from Dinajpur city campus is only 10 km. The university organizes a ceremony of green plants. There is a beautiful red and white brick building, Shahid Minar, a gymnasium, a TSC and a canteen in memory of the martyrs.
The infrastructure includes a large central Jame Masjid, a central Shaheed Minar, 5 academic buildings, an administration building, 5 student hostels (one for foreign students), 4 female student hostels, a 100-seat VIP seminar hall with modern furniture, two other air-conditioned rooms with 600 and 250 seats. Controlled auditorium.

Also to complete a university, there are faculty and staff club, 2 mosques, 136 residential units/buildings, 1 children’s park, post office, Rupali Bank branch, Meghna Bank branch, worker barracks, 24-hour internet facility, own power line, large playground, engineering workshops and the University’s own transportation system for students.

The Research and Training Institute (IRT) exists to coordinate and conduct research and training. There is also a VIP guest house, the Habibrabi school, a 12-bed medical center with doctors and an ambulance. Besides research theses, reports, journals, there is a rich library of 25,000 books.

A rich botanical garden with a collection of rare plants and a Jamparsnajm research center under the supervision of various departments. Construction work on the vast 10-storey building is nearing completion. Prof. Dr. M. Kamruzzaman is currently in charge as Vice Chancellor of the University. He became in charge of the university in 2021. After taking charge, he made great changes to the university. It plays an important role in the expansion of education and research.
