India wins against Bangladesh

Indian stand-in captain Smriti won the toss against Bangladesh and decided to bat first. The team’s two openers, Shefali and Smriti Mandhana, proved the captain’s right decision. Smriti and Shefali added 96 runs in the opening. Based on this opening partnership, the Indian team scored 159 runs for five wickets in the set 20 overs. Jemaima Rodríguez was the ultimate failure against Pakistan at number three. He also returned to flight. He played beautiful innings of 35 runs on 24 balls. However, the Harmanpreet-less Indian middle order failed with the bat. As a result, India could not score more than 159 points.

In response, Bangladesh could not advance more than 100 runs. Captain Nigar Sultana scored 36 points for Bangladesh. Opener Farzana Haque scored 30 points, but played 40 balls before that. Another opener Murshida Khatun took 25 balls to score 21 runs. So even though the Bangladeshi openers added 45 runs, Padmapar’s team fell behind in the game from the start. In the end, Bangladesh’s innings stopped at 100 runs for seven wickets. Deepti Sharma and Shefali Verma each took two wickets for India. Renuka Singh and Sneh Rana each got one wicket. The Indian team will play their last group match against Thailand on Monday.

Shefalic’s world record

Shefali played an innings of 55 runs off 44 balls with the bat against Bangladesh. His innings was made up of five fours and two sixes. Shefali set a world record through these innings. As the youngest batsman, Shefali crossed the 1000-run mark in T20 Internationals. He broke the record of another Indian star. This record was previously held by Jemima Rodriguez. He scored 1000 T20 runs in 21 years and 32 days. Shefali scored 1000 runs in just 18 years and 253 days.

Shefali entered the list as the fifth Indian batsman. Previously, Mithali Raj, Jemaima, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur achieved the feat of scoring 1000 T20 runs for India at the international level. While Shefali set this record as the youngest, former Indian captain Mithali Raji reached this milestone as the fastest Indian batsman in just 40 innings.

He did not appear in the first ODI against the Proteas. Because of that pain, he is out for the next two games.
