Will Shoaib Malik return to the World Cup team?

Pakistan was concerned about the middle order in the Asian Cup. After losing the title to Sri Lanka, Pakistani team leadership came under criticism and there was a demand to include T20 specialist all-rounder Shoaib Malik on the team. Cricket lovers of the country want Shoaib Malik to play in the World Cup.

Many of the country’s former stars are also in favor of Shoaib Malik’s return to the national team. But Pakistan’s voters haven’t listened to anyone yet. They announced the T20 World Cup squad without him.

But Shoaib Malik is performing well in domestic cricket including PCS. The 40-year-old cricketer does not want to stop playing cricket now. However, the team management is not nice to him.

Rumors have circulated from team management that Shoaib Malik’s relationship with Pakistani captain Babar Azam is not good, so despite playing well in Pakistan’s national cricket last September, this all-rounder did not get a place in the World Cup squad. Shoaib Malik has finally opened up about the matter as the rumors continue to grow.

The 40-year-old all-rounder dismissed rumors of a bad relationship with Babar Azam. He said that his relationship with Babar is not bad at all. There is no logic to combine this with exclusion from the World Cup team. He wants to play for the Pakistani team and has no plans to retire.

Shoaib Malik told Pakistani media ‘Sama TV’: ‘Look, my job is to play cricket. Selection is the decision of selectors, team management and PCB. When I get an opportunity, it’s my job to take it. And I don’t have a problem with anyone. I’m not against anyone. Always staying positive is the secret of success in my career.’ But are you going to talk to Babar about getting a spot on the World Cup team?

Shoaib Malik said: ‘I am in constant contact with Babar. Yes, it is true that we used to talk more. But now he is captain and should be given that place. I’ve been through it too and it didn’t bother me. I won’t ask him (to take me on the team).’

The big question now is whether Shoaib Malik will return to the team in the overall situation. But the hope is that Pakistani cricket council has returned middle order Fakhar Zaman to the team.

Malik scored 204 runs in 9 innings with a hitting rate of 140.68 in Pakistan’s National T20 Cup during the Asian Cup. Shoaib was also in top form in the last PSL. Scored 401 runs in 11 innings with a batting rate of 137.32, including three fifties.

Pakistan’s team management may wonder if he won’t get a place in the T20 World Cup team despite such great performances.
